Making Our Life Matter- Crafty Guest Blogger

Hi Friends,

My name is Sandy, and I am excited to be a guest poster at Making Our Life Matter this month. I am married and an Occupational Therapy Asst./ mom of three, living here is "sunny" Ohio. I am active with the PTA and church. I love my church family as much as my own.  For my hobbies, I love to read, camp and scrapbook/ make cards and other paper crafts.  I started scrapbooking 10 years ago and card making 4 years ago.  It is my stress reliever after I get the kiddos to bed. I love the sense of accomplishment when I look at the finished product and making gifts for others.

I am owner/administrator at the Scrapbooking Blessings Club blog and Scrapbook Blessings Club Facebook Group, which started as my personal scrapping blog but has since evolved into something bigger and better with a wonderful design team and lots of fun. This is an online resource of product reviews, tutorials, techniques and tips for the everyday at- home crafter, from beginner to advanced.

For myself, I just started using digital stamps, but my Cricut die cutting machine is my first love. I can't scrap without my die cutting machines, Gypsy, Cuttlebug, and I am a paper addict with the makings of a scrapbook hoarder.  I scrapbook almost daily and love, love, love learning new techniques and tutorials. That's about it. I am a simple crafter that likes to have fun with my family, friends and scrapbook bloggies.

My tip for you: Don't be intimidated by someone else work. We were all beginners at one point. So create what you want, not what you think everyone wants to see!

Jen asked me to share something "Holiday themed" with you.  Right now at the Scrapbook Blessings Club, we are participating in a Christmas Blog Hop, from November 25th through December 6th. We will be sharing with you a wonderful technique (One Sheet Wonders) for making your Christmas Cards this year, along with 12 video tutorials for you (hosted by me), one for each day showcasing a card technique.

Here are a couple of the cards that I have made for this hop using the different cardmaking techniques that are fun and easy to do (even Jen can do them!)...

I would love if you dropped by and said Hi!
Thank you again Jen for letting me have a spot here at Making Our Life Matter, sharing a part of my life that makes me a fun, happy, stress free wife and mommy.  Thank you stopping by and have a blessed day.

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8
