First Day of Christmas

So, we just finished advent which is the preparation of the birth and second coming of our King, now I am celebrating the 12 days of Christmas which actually starts on Dec 25th.  Some say the song originated as a secret code amongst the church as a way to preach.  Theologians debate this, but I am studying it with the kiddos, makes a great teaching tool. O n the 1st day of Christmas my true love gave to me... A Partridge in a Pear Tree...  The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, whose birthday we celebrate on December 25, the first day of Christmas.  I was going to make ATCs but decided to make them 4x6 so they would fit in a little photo album, and we can use them every year. I think it will make a nice faith book keepsake. The free digi stamp is Dearie Dolls  I used my Spectrum Noir markers for coloring all the images. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

INK, INK and more INK!

I am having a lot of fun playing with my Tim Holtz distress inks and stains .  I just think it is too cool to see the outcome when you just add a little bit of water in the mix.  I haven't done a page for my Faithbook in a while so I decided to use Frosted Designs ' Fri. Challenge as my inspiration... I used the Tim Holtz idea-ology Mask for my JOY.  If time I used that so I think it is a work in progress. An of coursed I had to get out the Prima flowers and some bling brads. Thanks for stopping by...

Challenge: Faithbooking - Freedom!!

This week's challenge at CSDivas is a Faithbooking one!  DT Vanessa challenges us to faithbook about Freedom and what it mean to us!  Here is the page that I did... These are the 2 scriptures that I chose.  My freedom is a blessing on grace and mercy! Galatians 3:22 But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of  freedom  only by believing in Jesus Christ.  Galatians 4:5   God sent him to buy  freedom  for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.

Quiet- what's that!

Triple the Scraps Challenge Word #9: Quiet Quiet is something that is alien in this house.  With three toddlers, the noise volume is almost ear shattering at time.  Right now I am not feeling like I have a quiet and gentle spirit but that is what I want me children to remember. 1 Peter 3:4 ministered to me, it is instruction and direction on how I should strive to be.  Especially now in the chaos I seem to be living in. You should be known for the beauty that comes within, the unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is precious to God. PS: I'm also giving away blog candy, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post .

Hymn

Brenda's Scrappy Blog  Create a project using journaling blocks you created with your Cricut Triple the Scraps Challenge Word #8: Hymn “a song or ode in praise or honor of God.” I sing to give praise and honor to the Lord. It is worship, not just sing a song. Recipe White card stock music pattern paper black chalk Cricut cuts: Hannah Montana cart for the Hymn word, music notes and tag

Perfect

Triple the Scraps Challenge Word #7: Perfect Patter Cross posted this song but it is so true.  We try to show the world perfection, but in reality, we are imperfected people loved by a perfect God.  Without His love, we would be lost. “Perfect People” Never let 'em see you when you're breaking Never let 'em see you when you fall That's how we live and that's how we try Tell the world you've got it all together Never let them see what's underneath Cover it up with a crooked smile But it only lasts for a little while {CHORUS} There's no such thing as perfect people There's no such thing as a perfect life So come as you are, broken and scared Lift up your heart and be amazed And be changed by a perfect God. Recipe Circle pattern paper Letters: Platin cart. blue gel pen clear embossing for faux stitching

Neighbor

Triple the Scraps Challenge Word #6: Neighbor I have to be honest, I didn't know that there were a lot of scriptures with the word neighbor.  I always knew the "Love your neighbor...."  but the rest of the scripture is ...you will fullfil the whole law. Recipe Heart/button pattern paper red glitter gel pens Cricut: Storybook cart.and Wild Card

Follow

Triple the Scraps Challenge Word #5: Follow This was an easy word for me.  I have learned early in life that I have to follow Christ.  When I try to make my own path, I always got lost and usually had to start all over.  Recipe: Pattern Paper Prima Flowers tag outline: Storybook cart. Follow: white glitter Thickers

Scripture Challenge 2010- Home

For our next challenge, we were given the word HOME. There were two scriptures that just ministered to me so I journaled both. The first is 2 Corthinans 5:1... Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (NIV) Second scripture is 2 Peter 3:13... But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the  home  of righteousness. You can find the Scripture Challenge 2010 @ Triple the Scraps Tools used: - stamped and embossed the word home in copper -stamped and embossed the flourish to make a frame in copper -doubled matted the word home and used a pop dot to raise it -house and tag came from Sweetheart cartridge -the fence was made by scrap pieces of a wood border that I had

{Scripture Challenge 2} Challenge Word #3, Abide

Abide: For this challenge word, I was led to Psalms 119:161, God, I do what you tell me. My soul guards and keeps your instructions... I follow your directions, Abide by your counsel. My life is an open book before you. (The Message) This is a simple layout and thought of adding something more but then I got to thinking. Why do I try to make everything so complicated? I do the same in life, but I think everyone does at one time or another.
