Good morning, and happy to have you visiting with us today.  I am sharing a card I created using a version of a gate fold card I viewed on youtube.com by Dawn5377 (I am subscribed to her videos and receive notifications via e-mail).  Here is a link to her video; and she has other gate fold cards listed as well.  smaller than her version, but it works. Here is the photo .... Hello scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here today with a simple mixed media card for you. TIP- when you want to do mixed media on cardstock start with a thin layer of white gesso on your cardstock. It helps the paper stand up to the dampness better. Here is the card I made for you today white cardstock 5 x 7 film from Bo Bunny flowers from petaloo gems various gelattos in gold and blue baby wipes distress ink in gathered twigs, vintage photo and rusty hinge bubble wrap or other textures for stamping adhesive-liquid glass Paint your white cardstock with a thin layer of white gesso and let dry completely. Add some color with gelatos and spread with baby wipes ink the edge of the card with vintage photo ink and spread with baby wipes stamp randomly with gathered twigs and mute by wiping with baby wipes I then had a small area where the sentiment goes that was plain white so I used a baby wipe to pick up some rusty hinge distress ink and blend it...

A Cupcake Birthday Card - Sliceform technique

Hey, Carolyn here with Tuesday - Cards/Techniques at Scrapbook Blessings Club and I am sharing a card technique that I had shared with you on 08/12/2014.  You could call this throw-back Tuesday! I found this technique on Extreme Cards and Papercrafting and by clicking on the link will direct you to the instructions for this cupcake card.   Front view of Cupcake Card (hopefully you can see the cupcake)   Card laid flat for mailing purposes (and to give you some indication of what it looks like)   Top view of card MY TIP:  don't become frustrated when putting the card together.  Take your time, and take a break if it becomes to much for you.  In putting it together, have to twist the pieces to get them to insert into the slots. Supplies used: Silhouette Studio file from  Extreme Cards and Papercrafting  Ribbon from my stash, and created using my Bow Easy - Make Mini Bows with Ease Candles printed out fr...

Painter's Tape Technique

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I've got a fun card for you.  This is an easy technique--in fact, so easy my 8 year old daughter was with me every step of the way....LOL!  It was her idea to use a diagonal stripe instead of the vertical stripe I was trying out at first.  That one is in the trash can.  Didn't like it...LOL!  'If at first you don't succeed'.... you get the idea :-) Supplies you will need: 3M blue painter's tape dye ink pads ( I used old ones that my kids get to use when we craft) stamp (I used Little Yellow Bicycle - Friends and My Happiness sets)  Rip off a piece of painter's tape that is slightly bigger than the area you want to cover.  Ink it up on the sticky side.  You will want to have a craft mat or scratch paper under your cardbase.  Press the tape down lightly to transfer the ink to your paper.  Ink up another piece of tape in another color ink.  Apply this t...

SBC Easel Tutorial ~

Hello Friends, Annette here for the Scrapbook Blessings Club and today for Friday's Cards. Today I would like to feature my Easel Cards. Easels are one of my most favorite cards I make and I try to utilize my Easels for various styles, its amazing what you can achieve, they are so much fun. Tip of the Day: I always use 285gsm for my Easel for strength to hold the heaviest of embellishments. Now onto my project: Here are some of the different designs I have used my Easels for:  I always use 285gsm Easel Stand and I make my Easel separately to my platform. Using an A4 Quill Metalique 285gsm Board I score with my Scor-Pal as per photo hereunder scoring at 2" ~  4" ~ 8" Fold and join with double sided adhesive tape  Cut your platform out measuring 9" X 6+1/2" Cover your Platform and your Easel in desired designers papers and then place your Easel on top of your Platform with double s...

Throwback Thursday: Gatefold Card Tutorial

Hi Friends, Sandy here for Throwback Thursdays.  But first my tip for you: A very easy and mess-free glitter medium is Stickles. I like using "Diamond" color. It goes with every project! This is a oldie but a goodie, perfect for the new crafter and a quickie for the advanced crafter. Plus this was one of my first cards and I love looking back and seeing what I made years ago. So here is one of my very first tutorials... ************************************************** Do you make your own cards?  They are easy to do and you can make a bunch for just pennies.  I went to the store the other day and was shocked at how much a card was?!?!?! I wanted to show you a card fold that I just love! It is called  a gatefold card  and you see them around quite a bit. For this card, you can make it any size you want. This is how I did this one... I started with a 5 x10 piece of cardstock. Score in 2 1/2 " on either side, giving you a 5 inch base. Then c...

Tuesday - Cards @Scrapbook Blessings Club

Hi there friends in the crafting world, Carolyn here to share a couple Christmas cards I recently made... But first the TIP:   Create your Christmas cards ahead of time, saves on the stress.   Christmas Village Church from here. The image was stamped on white card stock, and than die cut with a oval die.  Each scallop on the mat I applied Liquid Pearls and attached a ribbon on bottom.  Place it over a snow-flaked embossed mat and all attached to white card stock base. Sentiment from Stampin! Up Teeny Tiny Words.  Glitter glue applied to roof of the church; and I used Wink of Stella glitter pens to color in the stained glass window, plus the windows.  Door is also colored in with Wink of Stella glitter pen.   Photo download from a search on Internet that I printed out, and applied glitter/stickles to areas in photo that had glittered.  And created a easel card using my Silhouette Cameo.  I believe the photo was pr...
