Hello Crafters! I have a fantastic review for you today! It is a super great product...you get fabulous results and guess what? Something all of us crafters would like to find...the products are great yet inexpensive. TIP: Don't be afraid to try something new that may look like it is out of your comfort zone! Anyhow, I started with some watercolor paper and printed out a digital image on it. I taped it to my wooden cutting board, and started watercoloring with this fabulous product. Here is my image...then I will let you know a bit about the products. Stay tuned for my post on Sunday where I will take this image and create my challenge project with it.  Super cute...I promise to have a much better photograph on Sunday.         These are the two products I used. Good morning crafty friends, Carolyn here with a product review of two (2) embossing folders by Sheena (by Sheena Douglass) of a scenic nature. TIP:   When embossing, use a dauber and daub alcohol ink on the front inside of embossing folder to create a colorful background.   I believe I purchased these two embossing folders through the Facebook page, Lone Wolf Designs Discount Craft Supplies one day when I was cruising through the catalog and thought I would use them.  They are a little too large for my card needs - I generally create 5.50x4.25 size cards, and this measures out to approximately 5x7. Hi  to all our fellow Crafter's, Ange here on the SBC blog today.  I would like to share with you today the technique of Matting and Layering a card and briefly go through how I have colored my image with Copic Markers. I will start off firstly, with the technique of matting and layering your cards. This will help to give your cards a dimensional look rather than looking flat, I look forward to you sharing with us what you have created. Tip:  When choosing your paper you are going to use on your card try using only 2 colors patterned or plain and have one cardstock color you matt your papers with. Hi Everyone! Welcome to Thursday's Product Review! Today we will be sharing some ins and outs of SVG's! What are SVG you ask? According to Wikipedia, the definition of a SVG file is:   Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is a family of specifications of an XML-based file format for describing two-dimensional vector graphics, both static and dynamic (i.e. interactive or animated). To me that is blah,blah,blah! LOL!!!  So lets go a bit simpler for us scrapbookers and not a techy. SVG- according to Sandy... a cut file that uses little vectors to cut out an image. Think of it as "connect the dots". That is exactly what your machine is doing.  So by connecting the dots, your Cricut Explore and Silhouette will make a cute die cut image.   You do need a software program to use a svg and there has to be a connection from your computer to your cutting machine. Good morning Carolyn here with a Product Review of two stencils I recently purchased, hoping that it would make a cute background mat.... TIP :  don't become discouraged with your stenciling results, keep trying and trying; and you know, the ones that you think are hideous, they can be used later for some scrapbook page.   Mini Flutterby 6x6 Stencil - Butterfly background designed by Jamie for TheCraftersWorkshop.com  but I believe I purchased my stencils from a Facebook group: Lone Wolf Designs Discount Craft Supplies . Supplies used: Butterfly Stencil: Mini Flutterby by Jamie Echt (The 6x6 Stencil can be used for card-making, Mixed Media, Paper-Arts, Sponging, Spraying, Spritizing, Chalking & more). It does not react with other water based mediums once it is completely dry. I made an art journal page today. I used a lot of different mediums. MY TIP-  Check back through some of the older product reviews on SBC blog to get more information on some of the media I used today. Hello scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with a product review for you. I am going to be demonstrating a spray called Goosebumps . TIP OF THE DAY--   When trying a brand new product, experiment on scrap paper first so you can get the feel for how the product works. This is my finished project, a card I made with paper I created with Goosebumps and distress inks.  Recipe white smooth cardstock goosebumps spray at least three colors of distress ink ink applicator  First Spray the white cardstock with the goosebumps spray. Hold at least 18 inches away to avoid big puddles. Spray lightly two or three times keeping the bottle moving all the time. It may take as long as 20 minutes for the spray to dry completely. You want it completely dry before you add ink or mist. Then ink with coordinating colors of distress ink then wipe with a paper towel to get the ink off of the "goosebumps".  And spray lightly with water to get the distress ink look...

My Tip of the day: Use permanent ink such as Staz On for stamping images that you will want to color. Here is my completed card: I used a red rubber stamp and Staz On brown ink and Spectrum Noir markers. I used ribbon, a CTMH sentiment stamp, and Ranger Specialty Stamp Paper and bazzil peach cardstock. Here is the example of the stamp on the Ranger Paper and here is the example on CTMH White Daisy Cardstock which has a smooth texture I could tell more of a difference in person than I can from the photos. The Ranger paper image is more clear and true to color than the CTMH cardstock,...

Today I am reviewing the brand new Tim Holtz mini distress inks and the mini blending tool. These inks are soooo nice! They are very versatile and certainly convenient. A great size to pack up and take to a crop. Grab a little Thirty One cube and pack all of them in for easy taking with your other supplies, or grab a lock tight container from your local Wal Mart and store all of them that way for ease of travel.   Now on to how they work...the tool makes blending and putting these inks on your project super easy...I recently used for the first time the rectangle blending tool that I won this past December on a card...well that tool was very hard to handle I thought and also hurt my hand. Hey there, Carolyn here today with a product review, and I am reviewing the up-graded software, Abode Photoshop Elements ver. 12.  Now I'm not going into the technical stuff  of this program.  I am basically a beginner and learning how to create digital scrapbook pages with it.  And have been viewing online free classes (webinar) and using the techniques from the class in my pages.  I have download a bunch of scrap pages from blogs out there on the web, and trying to use the pages as my backgrounds.
