Anything Goes...Literally!!!!

I usually make my cards in the evening at the dining room table.  My kiddos will pop by throughout the night and occasionally they want to help mama.  So tonight I just didn't have any inspiration and was about to put my things away when my 7 yr old came by and wanted to make a card.  I said sure and let her pick out some papers that she liked, some bling, and she wanted to stamp.  When I saw what she picked out, I thought "oh boy" what a mess!!! LOL! So with some guidance from mama...okay... a LOT of suggestion from mama, here is what we came up with... She even took the picture!  Not bad for my crafter-to-be! Overall, I think it looks great, just not sure about the pattern papers, but I would never tell her that!!! So in honor of Paper Playtime and their "Anything Goes" challenge... I give you this creation where truly anything went, lol!

Thank You Teacher

Found another great challenge blog over at Docerela Creations .  I love the stamps too. Here is their current challenge:  Create any project must use button & ribbon. The first grading period is over, and so I made this in mind to give the teacher when I go to conferences.  What is the worst part of those meetings... trying to fit in the kid's desks, lol!!!

Be Strong In the Lord

The words I would say.... hmmm... I can say a lot of things and unfortunately I don't think it would be what my Father would want to hear come out of my mouth.  I'm finding that I have to make my words be edifying.  I need to be careful of what comes out of me.  So that is what I am going to do... Lord may my words and actions be pleasing to you not just today but always.  I am taking my thoughts captive and refusing to let satan have a foothold in my life. May my words be of encouragements, peace and love to my family and friends. I give you, Father, my mind and mouth, let them be used to glorify your kingdom.... Be strong in the Lord and Never give up hope You're gonna do great things I already know God's got his hand on you so Don't live life in fear Forgive and forget But don't forget why you're here Take you're time and pray These are the words I would say

INK, INK and more INK!

I am having a lot of fun playing with my Tim Holtz distress inks and stains .  I just think it is too cool to see the outcome when you just add a little bit of water in the mix.  I haven't done a page for my Faithbook in a while so I decided to use Frosted Designs ' Fri. Challenge as my inspiration... I used the Tim Holtz idea-ology Mask for my JOY.  If time I used that so I think it is a work in progress. An of coursed I had to get out the Prima flowers and some bling brads. Thanks for stopping by...

Easy- ATC

Over at Die Cutting Divas the current challenge is  The Challenge... Shimmer, Gl immer, Gloss So, I created 3 ATC aka Artistic Trading Cards.  These are small one layer papers that are cut at 2.5x4 You can trade them away in swaps, but they are great for putting on layouts and cards as embellishments.  I decided to wet emboss each one and use my Stickles to give me the shine and sparkle I wanted. I also used the Heritage Cart for my cut outs and Tim Holtz inks ( Spiced  Marmalade, Walnut  Stain, Stormy Sky, Spun  Sugar, Shabby  Shutters)  for my backgrounds ALL three were done on plan white cardstock. Also going to enter this in Twisted Tuesdays Challenges : Come play in this week's challenge! Anything but a card and include the color orange. Thanks for stopping by...

Baby Pumpkin Card

This year we welcomed the newest member of the family, my nephew Jacob.  He is our miracle baby, weighing in at 3lbs and delivered at 34 wks.  He is such a cutie and we get to celebrate this year with "firsts".  I decided to make a cute little card for him, really for momma and his baby book. It is a cute little pumpkin that I did in pastels for baby.    Used Wild Card cart to cut out the window card and used the liner feature for the stripe paper.  The cute little pumpkin is cut from PaperDoll Dress Up cartridge.  For the pumpkin, I used the real size dial at 1.75".  You have to remember to do that or it will cut at a smaller size because it is an accessory for paperdoll.  Also added some googly eyes and marker for details and there you go. So here is my baby Halloween card because even babies bet to celebrate too! I'm gonna enter this in two fun challenges: First is Nana's at My Craft Channel -  The gh'oul times!   (anything Halloween) and

Out of Retirement Giveaway

In September, I started back up blogging and getting my creative mojo back.  It is amazing of how much has changed since I started my break last year.  Blogs that I like are gone, new ones started up and it is amazing the quality of work, and the inspiration that I see here in our scrapbooking and card making blogland. I decided that a giveaway would be the perfect way to say Hi! Sometimes Less is More!!!

Two posts in one day!  I'm on a roll!!! While visiting all my favorite sites and blogs, I came across " Less is More ".  So I decided to pull out some birdy stamps and play along. The challenge is "Wings" and one layer.  I used a Martha Stewart bird stamp and some cream chalks to color it.  I also used a little of Glossy Accents to add a little dimension. I am also going to enter this in Red Carpet Challenge "The Birds" inspired by Alfred Hitchcocks movie.  How cool is that! Thanks for stopping by...

Halloween Party Favors

Do your kids love Halloween or not?  My do but not the scary stuff, however my nephew is terrified of Halloween and all things related.  He doesn't even like pumpkins with faces.  So I decided to make cute favor boxes, with him in mind, that I am gonna fill with candy corn and chocolate for our annual Halloween party.  I don't decorate for Halloween, but I have all my fall decs up and it is a pumpkin theme. I used The Tags, Bags and More cartridge, oval cut out from George Basic Shapes cart, and the cute pumpkins came from the Holiday Cakes cartridge. was gonna put on the happy halloween stamp but I think it was cute without it.  Here is the final product, I think it is very nephew approved.  Added some ribbon and used some ink for the oval and chalk to define the pumpkins so they stand out a little. So for our night, I stay home and pass out candy, hubby takes the kids around the neighborhood and then all the relatives come over for pizza and pumpkin pies.  Of course

Emboss It

This week's challenge:  Emboss it! (heat emboss, dry emboss, etc.) I love my Sizzix Texture Boutique machine.  I don't need a Cuttle Bug or Big Shot because I have my Cricut Expressions for my die cuts.  This is lightweight and all the embossing folders work great with it. So here is the card I came up with, just a hi, how ya doing one... Very easy to do, used the swirls embossing folder, color chalk, some Prima flowers and the stamp is a Close to My Heart one that I used on plain white cardstock and adhered to the front.  It literally took 15 min to plan and 5 min to do (each one).  So I went ahead and did a couple other colors too.  I think I might add envelopes, tie ribbon around them and give them out as a little hostess gift.  Those are a big hit for ladies to receive. Thanks for stopping by....

Light Box DIY

So here is the problem, I stink at taking pictures or my camera is just a piece of junk.  I'm leaning more to the second, lol.  I started to look at how to make a light box to decrease the flash on my pics and make them look nicer and here is what I came up with... BEFORE AFTER What do you think?  A big difference or what!  To find out how to make a light box, just google and there are a ton of tutorials or you can just cheat like I did, lol.  After I figured out the concept of it, I just made one that took me all of 2 min to do. I took a clear plastic tote drawer and cut down a piece of white poster board.  I fitted the poster board inside letting it curve on the top and bottom.  It filters the light from the side and the poster board covers the top to deflect the light.  So there you go... My easy, diy, free ( I had the poster board and drawer already) homemade light box. Thanks for stopping by...

Sunday Blessings

Counting on God Sometimes He is all you got.  One thing that He has shown me is that the fight is His, not mine.  When I decrease, He increases and it is only through my weakness that He shows His power. Praying you have a blessed Sunday
