Creating a Card Stash!

Well, Happy Tuesday fellow crafters! We are one day closer to the weekend right? So glad you could join us here today. I am going to share with you a really quick and easy way to create a card stash...now I only have 3 cards to show you but it is just so you can get the idea on how/what to do to go about creating a quick and easy card stash! Tip: Keep your layouts simple! There is a little step by step process here to do this: First, take some time on a rainy afternoon to create a stockpile of various diecuts using either your Cricut or Silhouette machine. It makes quick and easy cardmaking even quicker. Second, choose only 1 or 2 Sentiment stamp sets to use. I used these cool and fabulous new sets from Crafting Desert Divas ...check them out...I think you will love them! Third, choose 2 main colors of cardstock (I chose blue and yellow) and choose 1 6x6 pad to use as your patterned paper. {Take one that has been forgotten and unloved and put it to use.} Lastly, choose you

Office Wall Decor

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here.  Earlier this month I started a new job.  It's a hard and exciting adventure.  I had been with my previous employer since 1999.  Yikes!  Anyway, my new office came equipped with the usual desk, PC, bookcase and white board.  The walls are blank and need something. I found a couple of cartoon images via the Internet and traced them using my Silhouette software.  The images are all printed on Square1 Printable.  Makes it so easy to peel from backing and apply right to the office wall and white board.  And when using Square1, they can be re-positioned whenever I'm ready to move them.   Tip:  Use Square1 Printable to easily decorate blank walls. Roadrunner is on a corner of the white board Snoopy is dancing over my name plate outside the door   Roadrunner and Snoopy were both located via an Internet search.  They are not layered, but are all one single colored layer.   Images are printed and cut using Square1 Printable and can be easily moved

Scuba bear

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today!  So, who is ready for summer?  I am :-)  I've got a cute summer home décor project to share with you. TiP:  Use things in nature to enhance your projects if possible. I recently found some cute little frames in the $3 dollar bins at Michaels.  I had a teal one and wanted to use it but the color was a bit bright.  So, I painted the frame with white Acrylic paint and then wiped some of it off before it dried for a more distressed look.  Isn't that sweet Scuba Bear the cutest?  He comes from Meljen Designs who is one of our fabulous sponsors!  Recipe: Frame approx. 4" x 5" DecoArt white acrylic paint Core'dinations paper- teal color Meljen's Designs - Scuba bear watercolor pencils Glossy Accents (used to make bubbles and to make his mask shiny) Tim Holtz sanding tool Cuttlebug embossing folder - musical flourish Life is a Beach Cricut cart - seaweed @ 1", 1 1/4" Sand and seashell from our

Friday Layout

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! Friday is LO day here at Scrapbook Blessings Club. My name is Barbara and I am going to show you how to do a fast and easy LO using a grid design. My Tip for today:   You can use a grid design many times and come out with very different Layouts each time. It is a good "go-to" design. Here is my Layout for you today Recipe Bo bunny Zip a de do dah collection Bo Bunny kraft wood glasses October Afternoon Daily Flash Chipboard Jenni bowlin Chevron stamp Ctmh Lagoon ink Maya Road Camera Stamp black ink CTMH picture perfect stamp set blue mist brown mist green mist First I cut all my photos to 3x3.  Then cut enough mini canvas pieces to make nine total counting your photos also to 3x3 The background paper I used was black and white and I wanted some color so I misted it with three mists. While that is drying, I embellished each of my mini canvas peices. some with stamps, some with premade embellis

Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today with a product review of Tim Holtz Distress Embossing powder .  TiP:  Use a chunky or solid image stamp when using Distress Embossing powder.  Okay, I'm using: Tim Holtz Distress Embossing pwd in Vintage Photo Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo Versamark stamp pad Ranger heat tool Stampers Anonymous - Playful Journey stamp set  Stamp your image with VersaMark stamp pad.  Shake your Distress embossing pwd well.  Cover your image with pwd.  Tap off the excess and return it to the jar.  Heat with your heating tool.  Wait a little bit for it to cool.  Then gently rub your fingers over the image to release any of the distress particles of pwd that didn't heat up and stick.  This causes a distressed look.  It's hard to see it in the photo but it's really cool in person.  Makes this old jalopy look very real :-)   And here is the card I created with this distress embossed image! Recipe: 5" square c

Under The Sea - Glass Block

Hello, Friends.  Today I went to Michaels and picked up a glass block at 50% off.   Tip:  I'm convinced now is the time to purchase items at bargain prices - don't wait until Christmas season when you'll gladly pay full price if you can locate a glass block in the store. I searched the internet and found some fun under water images to use on my glass block.  These images were traced and cut using my Silhouette.  Other images found on the glass block were purchased. The background colors were all created using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks.  Images were all printed and cut using Square1 Printable.  Love Square1 - no layering.  And I can take images off, move them around, whatever. I could add lights to this glass block, but I think I'll use it to keep loose change. Thank for visiting today! Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by, ~ Marilyn
