HB2U

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I'm using a retro Cricut cart called Nifty Fifties .  Isn't it fun?! TiP:  Use black cardstock for the shadow on your die-cuts.  When you have a really busy background patterned paper this black shadow helps define the image and gives it depth.  My MIL is turning 75 soon and they are throwing her a retro party.  So, this is the card I came up with :-)  I hope she likes it! Recipe: DCWV - Nana's Kitchen stack - patterned glitter paper Nifty Fifties Cricut cart - Mixer @ 3 1/2", '75' @ 3/4", 'HB2U' @ 1/2" From My Kitchen Cricut cart - tab @ 2 3/4" Cinch - holes on the edge corner rounder black bling white organza ribbon black washi tape pop dots Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope I've inspired you to make something fun for someone special! Friday Layout

Hello and welcome to all my scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with your friday layout. MY TIP   Use embellishments to form a visual triangle on your layout to help the eye move over the entire layout and not miss any details. Here is my completed layout: Recipe coordinating patterned papers flowers journal card lace tape ribbon rub on of hand brad for flower I used the large journal card on one side of the photo and the large flower on the other side for balance. I used the lace tape to make a visual triangle around the photo to help the eye travel over the layout. Thanks for looking. I hope you are inspired to use a visual triangle on your next layout. As always comments and questions are welcome. Till next time Barbara Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Matting and Layering Technique for the 24th

Hi  to all our fellow Crafter's, Ange here on the SBC blog today.  I would like to share with you today the technique of Matting and Layering a card and briefly go through how I have colored my image with Copic Markers. I will start off firstly, with the technique of matting and layering your cards. This will help to give your cards a dimensional look rather than looking flat, I look forward to you sharing with us what you have created. Tip:  When choosing your paper you are going to use on your card try using only 2 colors patterned or plain and have one cardstock color you matt your papers with. This way it will co ordinate with your card into your card colors. Today's Tutorial For today's tutorial I am making a 7"x 5" Card, firstly I have cut the sizes to fit my card. It is best to go down in 1/4" increments so the pieces fit your card nicely. There is no wrong way to layer your card so cut out your pieces of paper first and stick them to your backing
