Sunday Blessings

This post is a little late today.  I have been on the run and have finally sat down to catch my breath.

For December, I am sharing my favorite Christmas songs.  Carol of the Bell is a wonderful favorite of mine.
So today is the first Sunday of Advent and that got me thinking.... what does this mean to me?

Advent comes from the Latin word meaning arrival. It is the time of year that we celebrate the coming birth of our Savior.  The candles representing Hope, Faith, Joy, Peace and Love.  The colors are 3 for royalty, pink for joy and white for His birth.  A wonderful reminder.

But I want to take it a step further.  While keeping His birth in remembrance, I think it is even more important to look towards His arrival for us.  The time that He comes as the bridegroom for His bride, the church.

Two thousand years ago, it was the preparation of our Savior's arrival as foretold by the prophets.  Two thousand years later, we are in preparation for our Savior's return as foretold by the prophets.  They have a pretty good track record in being right if you ask me, lol!

Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,
