CAS Tulle Shaker Card Tutorial - Gray Florals

Hello everyone! Today I have a very, very exciting video for you all! Although it is long, we can both experience in real-time how to assemble a tulle shaker card. There are other tutorials out there, but sometimes they are just too fast to keep up with. I hope you stick around with me until the end so you can absorb all of the details and try this technique out for yourself!

Tulle shaker cards are great because they allow for the sequins and bits to move around more freely. However, this means you cannot use glitter, micro beads, or other small fillers in your shakers. I used regular sequins in mine and it turned out well. I started my card front by die cutting three circles to cut my windows. To do this I used my Cuttlebug with some Nestabilities circle dies. I decided to do circles since this represents bubbles for the fish theme. Once those were diecut, I used my Impression Obsession wave dies in my Cuttlebug with some different colored cardstocks. After all of these parts were assembles, I stamped out my fish using a My Favorite Things stamp set. Below you'll find the video tutorial where I more clearly explain the rest of the steps!

Tulle shaker cards can be tricky. Since this is my first one, I plan on improving my techniques and sharing more ideas with you all! Have you made tulle shaker cards before or do you prefer regular shaker cards? I like the look of the tulle cards for certain themes. These almost seem like fish net to me or at least nautical to some extent. The only problem I find with tulle is that it doesn't have a definite shape. But it certainly creates a fun texture for the cards!

All of my shaker windows contain the same custom sequin mix that I made from my stash of sequins. This includes sequins from Kat Scrappiness, Neat and Tangled, and Darice. I love the mixtures of clear and metallic, different sizes, and different shapes. It adds a lot of interest to any card. Another great thing about tulle shaker cards is that they are not as bulky as a traditional shaker card which makes it easier to mail! You can bet that I'll be sending more tulle shaker cards in the mail for more occassions!

Here you can see a better shot of my custom sequin mix. I went with blues and oranges to match the waves and the fish. I stamped all of my MFT stamps using my colored Whisper ink pads. I have had these ink pads for ages and they still work great! I'm not sure if they are available anymore.

I hope you all enjoy this super clean and simple tulle shaker card. It was fun to make, but definitely scary to make in real time! I was so nervous, haha. If you would like to see more "real time" videos please let me know in the comments! What are some other occasions or themes you can see tulle shaker cards being used for? Thanks for stopping by!

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
