In The Mine 12x12 Process Video // Multi Photo

Hello everyone, welcome back! My name is Katelyn and I am sharing with you some tips on how to make poorly printed photos work for you. I have a whole process video explaining all of the details as well, so be sure to check that out. This layout includes three photos that are very, very similar. Which helps tell the story. I hope you enjoy! Some times we get photos from our home printers or from third party printing sites that didn't come out the way we anticipated. The photo in my example was not processed correctly on the right hand side which you can see in the beginning of the video. However, I figured that instead of requesting a new one and jumping through hoops that I could make it work. Please enjoy the process video below. I created two cluster groups to help balance the page. One is over the poorly printed part of the photo and the other is on the opposite side. Balancing your page is key for an aesthetically pleasing layout! All of the products used in this ...

Easy Cards from Scrapbooking Supplies - Happy Fall

Hello crafty people! I am bringing you a topic that I like to revisit every so often. If you are both a scrapbooker and a card maker, then you'll know that the supplies don't vary too much from one another. However, if you're only a scrapbooker, it can be hard to try and make cards without owning stamps or embossing. Today, I tackle making a card without typical card making supplies!  I used some plain Kraft colored cardstock to create my base of an A2 sized card. I then grabbed a 6x6 paper pad to find a background paper. You can use any size paper for your backgrounds which is convenient for using up some of that scrapbook paper. I cut this piece in to 4" x 5 1/4".  The video explains my decision process a little more, but there are so many options when it comes to making cards like these that there's no one right way. I pulled out a cut apart that worked as a sentiment for my card. Most of the piece were from the Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice c...

How to: Pocket Page Collages // Gray Florals

Have you ever wanted to use all of the photos you took at a birthday party, a get together, or on a vacation? Today I am sharing with you simple tips on how you can include several photos of lesser importance on one page. Photo collages are an easy way to accomplish this. I also show you how to balance out the other side with a simpler layout design. Let's dive right in! I find that I always tend to do page collages when it comes to vacations. We take photos of so many things while on trips that don't have a lot of importance other than we saw it on the trip. This page is when we went to the zoo during our Pittsburgh Trip! I loved taking photos of all of the animals, but didn't want to include every single one of them. This is a great way to include some favorite without taking up too much room in the album. I go through this in more detail during the video. Enjoy! Some key takeaways from this project is to keep it simple. Photo collages can some times be ve...

Crayola Marker Watercoloring - Tips & Techniques!

Hello crafty friends! Katelyn here with a preliminary video sharing you tips and tricks to use Crayola markers for watercoloring! Now, I'll tell you right now that this video had a few hiccups during filming, but there's a lot of great information in there! So, let's dive in to some tips and tricks! There's a fun technique that is on trend currently that involves using Crayola markers. I know that almost everyone has had Crayola markers in their house at some point. Now is the time to dig them out! In my video this month, I am sharing some general examples and ideas on how to use the markers to color in images. I also share some tips on some great techniques to use them for and what not to do. I hope you enjoy! Overall, these markers are a great pigment source. I do recommend using a waterbrush with them, but you could definitely use a regular brush and water. The pigments are relatively easy to move. I highly recommend using watercolor paper because all o...

Making a Scene Using Your Stamps and Watercoloring Process

Hello everyone! Welcome back to SBC! I'm Katelyn and I've got a new tutorial to share with you! I started doing this with some of my stamp sets recently and after having enough practice I decided to share with you this easy technique to extend the mileage on your stamps. I have two stamps here that I purchased off of Etsy. They are not necessarily intended to go together, but since the illustration style was the same, I figured I would make a full scene out of them. Some other supplies you will need for this project include stamps that "go" together, a fine tip black pen (or whatever color you're stamping in), a watercolor set, and a fine tip brush. Let's dive in to more details about the process. Essentially, what we're doing is taking two stamps and filling in the gaps. The video gives a better representation of how this occurs, but I basically mimic what is around the already stamped image. The grass section tends to be the easiest since it is es...

CAS Tulle Shaker Card Tutorial - Gray Florals

Hello everyone! Today I have a very, very exciting video for you all! Although it is long, we can both experience in real-time how to assemble a tulle shaker card. There are other tutorials out there, but sometimes they are just too fast to keep up with. I hope you stick around with me until the end so you can absorb all of the details and try this technique out for yourself!  Tulle shaker cards are great because they allow for the sequins and bits to move around more freely. However, this means you cannot use glitter, micro beads, or other small fillers in your shakers. I used regular sequins in mine and it turned out well. I started my card front by die cutting three circles to cut my windows. To do this I used my Cuttlebug with some Nestabilities circle dies. I decided to do circles since this represents bubbles for the fish theme. Once those were diecut, I used my Impression Obsession wave dies in my Cuttlebug with some different colored cardstocks. After all of these ...

6x8 Pocket Page Process - Travel Album Divider

Hello friends! My name is Katelyn and I am one of the newer members here at Scrapbook Blessings Club. I'm happy to be here and excited to show you some fun ideas and techniques. Today, I have a 6x8 pocket page to share with you. This is for my travel album and it's a divider page starting off our third day off the trip. So, I'm here to encourage you to cut through some photos and make fun divider pages! My video goes in to more details about products, but here I want to give you some tips on cutting your photos. I know that a lot of people don't like to cut their photos like I have done here, but simple photos like the bottom are fine to cut up in my opinion. Take caution when thinking about cutting photos with people in them. It's a very fine line to walk, so watch your cuts ladies! When I have full photo layouts, I liked to keep the embellishments simple and kept to a couple of pockets. In this case, I have a cluster/title in a left pocket and then...
