Crayola Marker Watercoloring - Tips & Techniques!

Hello crafty friends! Katelyn here with a preliminary video sharing you tips and tricks to use Crayola markers for watercoloring! Now, I'll tell you right now that this video had a few hiccups during filming, but there's a lot of great information in there! So, let's dive in to some tips and tricks!

There's a fun technique that is on trend currently that involves using Crayola markers. I know that almost everyone has had Crayola markers in their house at some point. Now is the time to dig them out! In my video this month, I am sharing some general examples and ideas on how to use the markers to color in images. I also share some tips on some great techniques to use them for and what not to do. I hope you enjoy!

Overall, these markers are a great pigment source. I do recommend using a waterbrush with them, but you could definitely use a regular brush and water. The pigments are relatively easy to move. I highly recommend using watercolor paper because all of the other papers I tested pilled terribly. I include some floral examples in my video, but you can see a couple premade examples of other coloring in the video as well.

I hope this video tutorial was helpful and encourages you to try this marker watercoloring technique! Keep the tips, dos and don'ts, and techniques in mind when you try it out. Thanks for stopping by!
