Painter's Tape Technique

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I've got a fun card for you.  This is an easy technique--in fact, so easy my 8 year old daughter was with me every step of the way....LOL!  It was her idea to use a diagonal stripe instead of the vertical stripe I was trying out at first.  That one is in the trash can.  Didn't like it...LOL!  'If at first you don't succeed'.... you get the idea :-)

Supplies you will need:
3M blue painter's tape
dye ink pads ( I used old ones that my kids get to use when we craft)
stamp (I used Little Yellow Bicycle - Friends and My Happiness sets)

Rip off a piece of painter's tape that is slightly bigger than the area you want to cover.  Ink it up on the sticky side.
You will want to have a craft mat or scratch paper under your cardbase.  Press the tape down lightly to transfer the ink to your paper.
Ink up another piece of tape in another color ink.
Apply this tape next to the first one.  Repeat until you cover the whole cardbase.  You could do horizontal or vertical stripes as well.  Carefully remove the tape.
Here is my inked up cardbase.  Love the distressed, uneven look of it.
I chose to keep it really simple and just add a stamped sentiment.
My daughter made these two.  Aren't they great??!!  She was pretty excited about them :-)

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope I've inspired you to dig out that old roll off painter's tape and your inks and play.  If you have questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques.
