First Day of Christmas

So, we just finished advent which is the preparation of the birth and second coming of our King, now I am celebrating the 12 days of Christmas which actually starts on Dec 25th.  Some say the song originated as a secret code amongst the church as a way to preach.  Theologians debate this, but I am studying it with the kiddos, makes a great teaching tool. O n the 1st day of Christmas my true love gave to me... A Partridge in a Pear Tree...  The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, whose birthday we celebrate on December 25, the first day of Christmas.  I was going to make ATCs but decided to make them 4x6 so they would fit in a little photo album, and we can use them every year. I think it will make a nice faith book keepsake. The free digi stamp is Dearie Dolls  I used my Spectrum Noir markers for coloring all the images. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Sunday Blessings

Well, the end of the world didn't happen..yet.  Look at my previous post, it has a little clip art that says" What part of no man know don't you understand?"  I think it is very fitting but I still have the blessed hope of when the bridgroom comes for his bride so with that Happy 4th week of Advent. In the fourth week of Advent, we relight the three candles of HOPE, PEACE, and JOY, and we now also light the final candle, symbolizing LOVE. Advent is a time to love as God loved us by giving us His most precious gift. My fourth favorite song is one that I sang all the time when I was a child.  I always felt like that "little bell"... Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Sorry all you end-timers but still here and kickin'!  I just have this to say... Okay all kidding aside, thanks for stopping by to my third blog hop ( I am on an roll!!!!).  This hop is being hosted by Ashley, The Blog Hop Princess ,  and you can head of there to start at the beginning. You should have came via Tabetha   (such a pretty name!) My project for this hop was inspired by this picture on Pinterest (which I am totally addicted to by the way). My best friend found it and said she would loved to have something like this to hang up.  I knew I could do it for her but with a couple of changes.  She lives 5 hrs away so I will have to mail it and do you know how heavy those bells are?!?!  And her living rooms is in blues so I decided to change up the colors. I found these plain white letters at JoAnn Fabrics. With a little acrylic blue paint, Crystal Stickles and glittered plastic snowflakes here is what I made for her... ...

Sunday Blessings

Happy 3rd week of Advent...   My next favorite song brings back a lot of childhood memories for me.   I remember singing and decorating the Christmas tree to this song with my dad watching us kids.  It has been 7 years since he passed, and I still miss him everyday.   We used to sing up a storm to this song... Rockin around the Christmas Tree but not just any...it had to be Brenda Lee.  Only she would do, lol. These memories bring me a lot of joy, so I thought it was fitting for this week. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

I love Snow...how about you?

I am glad to be participating in my second blog hop. If you are starting out or re-starting as in my case, blog hops are the way to go. These are a lot of fun to do and you meet a lot of fellow crafters this way! So Welcome!  You should have come from Haidee @ Created2Bunique ,  but if you didn't  Lisa at Honey Bearz Designs is our hostess for this hop, and you can start at the beginning there. To show my appreciation for the white, cold stuff; I wanted to make something different.  So I decided to make a vertical banner that became a wall decor item, lol. I used the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge, Martha Stewart glitters, Flower Soft and a cute little glitter snowman tag.  Add some silver braided ribbon, you get a cute decoration to hang up. Here is a close up of the glitter and flower soft  that I won once and finally decided to use... The kiddos are trying to figure out how mama got snow in the house without it melting! ...

Grieving, praying and hoping

Today is a tragic day for families and love ones.  My heart is heavy with pain for them.  I grieve for the families that lost their precious ones today.  It hits so close to home with my little ones being 7, 5 and 4.  I watched them come off the bus today laughing and racing to the front door with tears in my eyes.  I think they thought I was crazy when I started hugging and kissing on them. My heart cries out, Father why?!?!  So with tears,I am praying for the moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, may God's love wrap them up tonight.  May peace that passes all understanding be with them.  May the knowledge that they are hugging our Father right now, somehow comfort them. May the Holy Spirit minister to their hearts, minds and souls.  May our tears not be shed in vain. I am hoping that good will come out of this.  That people will see the blessings that they have in their children.  May families draw closer to one another.  M...

Adding another card to the collection... I will be sending out my cards hopefully this weekend.  Just can't believe how fast Christmas is approaching. Playing with Markers

I am loving my new markers.  An early Christmas present that I bought myself.  They are called Spectrum Noir, and I am really liking them.  I have Copics too, and I can't find much difference between them. Here is a cute little penguin that I did from Beccy's Digi Stamps... This is only my second image that I have done with these markers so I am still in the learning curve, lol.  I am going to enter this in the  challenge that Spectrum Noir is having, animals. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Sunday Blessings

Morning, hope you are having a great day so far.  This month we are celebrating advent which is the preparation of our King and Savior.  He came not as a warrior or diplomat or one of wealth and prestige, but he came as a baby, defenseless, helpless, and fragile. I am looking forward to when He will come again, but this time it will be as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords coming from heaven with a loud command and the trumpet call of God.   So as we celebrate week 2 of advent, we look towards peace.  A peace that passes all understanding. No matter what we hear in the news or see in print.  No matter what the governments of the world decide. No matter what Satan tries to bind us in with fear... we have a peace like no other.  A peace that His promises are Yes and Amen.  A peace that one day we will be with our Savior.  Little Drummer Boy is my third favorite Christmas song.  I think because I identify myself with that litt...
