Colored Pencils on Colored Cardstock for Simple Cards

Hello crafty people! I have a really cool technique to share with you today for my monthly video. I'm still new around here, so I'll introduce myself again. My name is Katelyn and I just joined SBC not too long ago. This is my second individual project for this lovely community. Today, I wanted to explore a technique that is new to me. I have had this background stamp for ages and I haven't utilized it as much as I should. So, I wanted to make something that would let this stamp shine. I decided to use the preview of the wood stamp as inspiration for my color choices. I decided to use four colors overall. I used a light pink, a wine color, white, and a medium brown tone. These are similar colors that are featured on the stamp block. To color the flowers, I started with the darker wine color in the center and creases and then used the light pink to blend it out. I think that having the pink cardstock background helps cover up any of the poor blending I may have done...

Beach Smile Layout-Featuring Altenew

Hi crafters, sandy here with a layout and I am sad to say but this is the first one of the year for me. I have just not been layout motivated however..... I did find this sketch over on the Altenew blog and thought, why not?  So looking through my pictures, I found this one that I just knew I wanted to do a layout with. I have to chuckle, this face is just too much!!! She was not happy with me when I called her to turn around for a picture.  We were headed over the dune to the beach to see the ocean and a lighthouse and Mama was holding up the show, hehe!!! Here are some of the cards that I did previously with Altenew's Say Cheese stamp and die set.  This is one of my favorites. Thanks for stopping by. Here is the link if you would like to play along! http://altenewblog.com/2017/03/10/march-2017-layout-sketch-challenge/

MFT Sneak Peek 4/4/2017 0 COMMENTS Hi everyone, Sandy here for SFL. Today I want to share with you 2 cards that I have done for our upcoming blog hop this month featuring MFT! So make sure you save the date and hop along with the SFL DT. Okay for my two cards, I had a blast playing with a couple metal dies and embossing folders... The first card here was done with the Hello Beautiful die set.  I also used 2 embossing folder and for some sparkle (which the pic doesn't quite show) using Clear Wink of Stella pen. The second one is a clean and simple notched up a bit. I used a swirl embossing die along with some Candi dots.  I also used Wink of Stella on the die cuts. This is the die set, the two that come together. And yes, I did more cards for the hop with this die. Plus I have a ton of ideas for even more. So this one is a winner for me! So anyways, see in a couple of days for our next blog hop!

Different Perspective

Hi everyone, Cristina here to share with you a project life layout created using Designs A,D, and G pocket pages. I had so many pictures I wanted to add that I decided to add Design G. The pictures in today's layout is of my son during each track meet for the season.  A little story: Years ago I was a huge fanatic for scrapbook layouts and it would literally take me hours, days, weeks just to finish 1 (yes 1 lol) layout. I had to have the perfect embellishments, paper, I mean you name it. I loved it don't get me wrong but it took me so much time. I took a break from scrapbooking because I was no longer having fun. It was maybe a year later that happen to run into Becky Higgins project life video. As crazy as it may sound I cried, I had forgotten why I was preserving memories. I was taking the fun away by putting pressure on myself. What picture do I pick out of a handful when I want to use them all. Well the video changed the way I do thing...
