Monday/Tuesday's Pop-up Die Heart Card

Hi Everyone, Sandy here for Monday's Die Cutting and Tuesday's Cars Project (kinda like two posts in one!!!) . Using Sizzix Pop-up Heart Die and the Cuttlebug, I was able to make this very easy pop up Valentine's card for my hubby.

But first my tip for you: Keep a small plastic shopping bag taped to the craft table for all those scrap pieces of trash. Man, I made a mess this project, lol!

Here is the outside of the card I made...

folding the card closed...

Okay, now for some fun!!!!
Start with a white card base and your cut out heart. Glue the little tags to the base of the card, one on either side of the middle fold score line.

Here is the die that I used

(front view)

Next cut your card down to a 5x5 card size along with some patter paper for the front of the card.

For the front of the card, I cut the extra hear that is on the die and ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss the front. I finished off with a cute Love stamp/banner and inking the edges.

To decorate the inside of the card around the pop up heart, I decided to cut some strips of paper

I glued them diagonally, covering one whole side. After they are all glued down, I trimmed the edges

For the other side, I decided to make my own design (this was Challenge #11 tech, make your own background) uing various heart stamps, sentiments. I also distress the entire card to give it a rougher, more masculine look.  Here is a picture of my mess... yes I work like a bomb just exploded on my desk!

The inside without the mess!!!!

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
