Anything goes Blog hop-day1

Welcome to the Anything Goes Blog Hop!! We are pleased to have you here. We hope you enjoy seeing all the fabulous projects on each blog in this hop. Everyone really took this theme and ran with it!!! So,we are giving you 2 days to hop. We all know how busy lives can be:)

You should have started at Shelley's blog Scrapbooking for Fun. If you didn't please go to the beginning. We don't want you to miss a single great project in this line up. Hopefully you hopped over from Janet.

I decided that I wanted to make a centerpiece for my hubby's 40th birthday (you can see his 40 candles card HERE). I told him I was making a diaper/depends cake ( I make custom ones for my business) LOL! That got me thinking, I could do a pop cake, using his favorite drinks, Mt Dew and Dr Pepper! (I saw a beer cake on Pinterest)
I embellished it using his party colors, black and blue and stuck with stars and ribbon curls. I used George Basic Shape cart. and Graphically Speaking cart.for his name, stars, sentiments (used the blackout shadow key for behind the white letters).

Everyone that it was great but the icing on the cake was that hubby didn't want to drink his pop even a week later because he loved it so much!

(Tip: this is HEAVY!!! so make sure you make it where you want it to sit, no way can you lift this beast!)

No hop is complete with out some candy...blog candy that it!!! Here is the blog candy pic...

Shelley, our hostess, has a great blog candy package for 1 lucky winner! All you have to do is comment and be a follower on each blog in this little hop!
(Shelley ships to the US only, thanks)

Now off you go... hop on over to NADJA and I'll see ya later!

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8
