Diaper Cakes

Here is something I whipped up for a baby shower... A Diaper Cake! This is the second one that I've made, and they are so easy to do.

Supplies:
100 (size 1) disposable diapers
transparent tape
2 bottles or 1 sparkling grape juice bottle
3 large rubber bands
ribbons

Directions:
1. roll each diaper starting with the waist band and tape
2. when done rolling, place rubber bands around one bottle
3. start securing diapers to bottle by placing inside of rubber band and up against the bottle
4. go all around the bottle a couple of times (I did 4 rows for the bottom, 3 for the second and 2 for the third)
5. start second layer by placing second rubber band around the bottle and start over attach the next set of diapers
6. if you use sparkling grape juice, just start last tier with 3rd rubber band, however, if you use regular baby bottle, you need to get a second bottle and place on top of first
7. place ribbon around the cake to hide the rubber bands and decorate

For this cake, I used Cricut to cut out the circles and letters for the baby's name. I used my new Sizzix embossing machine for swiss dots on the blue paper. I attached the circles to covered floral wire to make "stems". I also rolled 4 wash clothes to make 8 little "flowers" for the topper. For the animals, I used the Cricut and Scal. I found the svg at A Southernbelle's SVG.

Diaper cakes are such a big hit with mommy-to-be's and guests!

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8
