Welcome to Day 1 of our hop!

So you know how I like to do "themes" during the hop each day while following the hop theme. One month it is fancy fold cards, another is doodling, etc.  For this month, I wanted to play around with techniques I haven't tried before.

Today is masking. Believe it or not, I have never done this and I had this masking paper in my stash for out 3 years now. Boy, was I missing out, lol.

First, I stamp on the masking paper and on my card front.

Second, I peeled off the back layer of the masking paper and stuck it over top of the bunny on the card front. Then I stamped the larger bunny on top.

Next, I peeled off the masking paper and started coloring. I decided to make it a one layer card to show off this technique.

Another thing I like to so is mix and match my sentiments. As you can see here, I replaced Basket with Easter.  I am notorious for cutting my stamps. You get more bang for the buck this way and it doesn't ruin the stamp integrity.

Here is my finished card

Here is past card that I pulled from my gallery. I just loved this card and wanted to share it again!!!
I watercolor the stamp image in this one.

Enjoy the Hop. Come back each day. We hope to inspire you to start your own Heart and Bunny projects.  Get to work on the tutorials, show us what you made by March 11th and check back on March 12, 2016 to see if you are a winner.
Let's get started !!

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
