Pre- op Diet

Thanks Mama Bear for your comment.  I had Gall Bladder Surgery Tuesday (50 gall stones!!!!) and today I'm feeling more like myself.  A little more dizzier that usual though :)    My biggest update on my WLS is that I have a date!!! The Dr office called and it is going to be Oct 25th.  I'm nervous and excited at the same time! As of today, I have lost 26 lbs too which is great and am 298lbs ( Can I officially say , I will NEVER see 300s again?!?!  I sure pray so).  My diet has been a restrictive one with my calories under 1200.  This may be too low for some people, but I though I would share some of the tips that I have been learning along the way.  Going through this process has been an eye opener in how the body works and my nutritionist is an angel.  I can call her any time. Here's what I'm doing ( I know I'm preaching to the choir but bear with me, I think I finally got this for me)... I eat 3 meals and 2 snack ( my snacks are 1...

Sunday Worship and Praise- Amazing Grace

Happy Sunday!!! My God song of the week is Amazing Grace (my chains are gone). By Chris Tomlin. I truly feel like God is lifting chains off of me one by one... emotional, mental, and physical. It is a wonderful feeling! I weighed in today and lost 3 more lbs (still waiting for my surgery) but that is a total of 24 lbs so far! Each one of those pounds is a chain on my body holding me down and back. I am 300 lbs now and able to exercise of 30 min straight without pain during or after. This is a big victory for me, and I give God all the glory. My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy reigns Unending love, Amazing grace The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures ps.  Please keep me in prayer.  My gall bladder surgery is Tuesday Oct 5th at 10 am (est)   Love and Blessings to you :)

Live Church Broadcasts

I wanted to let you know that my church is now running a live broadcast of Sunday Service, including praise and worship and alter call. I was home with a sick child last week and this was great to watch on the computer. My church is Assembly of God, five fold ministry, just so you know :) If your church has a live cast, please post it here. That way if any of us are home sick, home bound, etc., we can still worship :) Here is the link: Highway Tabernacle Service (Pastor Moore, time: 10:00 am est, place: Austintown, Ohio) (there are past messages too)

A Simple Prayer

By Peggy Porter My son Gilbert was eight years old and had been in Cub Scouts only a short time. During one of his meetings he was handed a sheet of paper, a block of wood and four tires and told to return home and give all to"dad." That was not an easy task for Gilbert to do. Dad was not receptive to doing things with his son. But Gilbert tried. Dad read the paper and scoffed at the idea of making a pine wood derby car with his young, eager son. The block of wood remained untouched as the weeks passed. Finally, mom stepped in to see if I could figure this all out. The project began. Having no carpentry skills, I decided it would be best if I simply read the directions and let Gilbert do the work. And he did. I read aloud the measurements, the rules of what we could do and what we couldn't do. Within days his block of wood was turning into a pinewood derby car.A little lopsided, but looking great (at least through the eyes of mom). Gilbert had not seen any of the other kid...
