CSDivas Blog Hop (25th-26th)

Welcome to ScrapBook Blessings and the first CSDivas Fall Blog Hop!!! If you are coming from ANN, you're in the right place! If you've just happened cross my blog and would like to play along with starting at the beginning with the CSDivas, then click HERE.

The Design Team members have created fabulous Fall creations to inspire you and to motivate you to create some projects, just perfect for the season. The Blog Hop is 25th and 26th.  There will be prizes along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a grand prize up for grabs at CSDivas. Here is a sneak peek...

So let's get started... I get the honor of having the "Back to School" Fall theme so I decided to show a great little project you can whip up for your refrigerator to keep track of your kiddo's school week appointments.

For this project, I used my Gypsy to alter my calendar and Cricut Expressions for all the cutting.  I was choose the colors to match my kitchen decor. I have three kiddos and things can get hectic at home :)
This is what we will be making...

• I picked up a dry erase board from the dollar Store

• Used an 8 1/2" by 11" card stock
• Using Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge on my Gypsy,  I was able to use the hide contour button and hide the blocks on the calender that I didn't need.

• Using the Font on Designer's Calendar, I cut out each of the letters at 1", the weekdays (white)at 1" along their shadows (green)

•  To line up my letters evenly, my secret weapon is repositional tape.  Works like a charm every time. (I'm just a crooked kind of gal, so don't mind my letters, lol)

•  I pleated ribbon and using my stapler, fastening along the way.  Love how it turned out!  Using glue dots, I adhered it to my paper above the weekdays.

•  Using the Rounded feature on Designer's Calendar, I was able to get my great circle with the words Back 2 School. 2.65".  I used the hide contour button again on the gypsy to get my circle behind the words, 3".  Came out great!
• To finish it off, I used complementary Prima flowers in different sizes.

•  Lastly, I used glue dots and fastened the layout to my dry erase board, and inked the outside edge of the board with black ink.
