Diaper Cake- My Cricut Craft Room

Hello Friends!  I'm excited to share that I am on the design team for the My Cricut Craft Room blog. If you have been following ScrapBook Blessings for a while, then you know of my love of Cricut, Gypsy and now my Cuttlebug!  If you are a first time visitor, make sure to click the follow on Bloglovin to stay up to date on all of my favorite Cricut crafts, tips and tutorials.

For today's Thursday Theme Day project we are showcasing babies. I want to share with you a diaper cake that I made using Create a Critter cartridge.  This is one of my favorites for cute animal cuts.  Cricut also has Create a Critter 2 that has come out a little while ago, another must have cartridge.

Here is my cake for baby Joshua...

  • I cut all the animals between 2-3.75"
  • Cut all the layers using different color card stock. (remember not to touch your size dial so they cut out at the right size to match the base layer)
  • Adhere with glue dots or gun to the ribbon.

  • Decorate using markers.  For this cake, I was given a picture of the baby's room decor.  Believe it or not, I was able to get the animals to match the comforter.  So what you see on the cake is actually what is in the baby's room.  Talk about awesome coincidences!!!

When I make a diaper cake, I use 100 size 1 diapers.  I roll each one up and tape, and then using a large rubber band; I attach to a sparkling cider bottle.  To cover up the bands, I use colorful ribbons. The fun part is decorating you "cake" and making it personal for the Mama to be.  Each diaper cake that I have done have been a show stopper and using the Cricut for my die cuts makes it that much more special.

Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,
