CSDivas' Thursday Card post

This is my Thursday card post for Creative Scrapbooking Divas.  Everyday there is a different post/project you can check out and every week we have a great challenge for you.

Ever have "card block"?  You know, where you sit down, want to make a card for someone and just stare at you supplies and wonder what in the world to do.  That has been me all month, lol.  UNTIL!!!! recently!  I found a wonderful tool to help me with my inspiration and just have to share it with you!

Operation Write Home is a great site where homemade cards are sent over seas to service men and women.  They in return fill out the card and sent it back home to loved ones.  How cool is it for a little one to get a Elmo birthday card from mommy or daddy in the mail?!?!?   I just love this site and have sent out cards but they have a wonderful link with sketches made by OWH cardmakers.  They do sketches all the time and you can find them all in one place.

Here are a couple of cards I made recently using OWH sketches...

You can find the sketch collection HERE!!!

We would love to see some card inspiration.  My mini challenge for you is to create a card using one of the sketches and post the link in the comments.  Don't forget to post the sketch that you used too! This is a great way to help spread the word about OWH!

PS: Here are the Fall deadlines to ship out.

Sept 16 - Halloween
Sept 30 - Thanksgiving
Oct 31 - Christmas
Nov 30 - AnyHero Christmas

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
