So Thankful For You

Happy Tuesday morning, all! Melissa here with a "just because" kind of card. This is a tri-shutter, card. I just love to make these! So fun. If you've never made one before, you can follow this tutorial . You'll be addicted in no time, I promise. This card uses various techniques besides the fun card fold. I also did second generation stamping, and dry embossing using my Cuttlebug. If you're not sure what second generation stamping is, you can watch this video. For this project, you will need: Tools: paper trimmer, score board or scoring tool, cuttlebug (or equivalent) and folders Pink, black, white cardstock Stamps and coordinating ink Letter stickers Punch (heart shape) Tip: Tri-shutter cards are great for "themed" projects, because of all the various panels. Don't be afraid to make three dimensional cards. They still fold up and fit in an envelope for mailing. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by, Melis...

Die Cut Monday

Hello and Welcome on this Monday. Glad to see all my crafty and scrappy friends here. Today is die cut monday so I am going to show you a layout with cricut die cuts. Tip Of The Day: Always read the instructions in front of the booklet that comes with your cartridge to understand how that particular cartridge uses sizes. For example, for this cartridge, The First Few Years, each image tells you the size to cut in order to make a 12 x 12 layout similar to the one they have designed for you. Artbooking on the other hand, has you keep the size the same and will cut the smaller pieces to the correct proportion to the size of your page. Here Is my Layout for today: I used the "first few years" cartridge and made a 12 x 12 layout. The smaller paper in the middle is 8 x 8. Recipe Blue background paper Gray striped piece 8 x 8 Red, Blue, and Gray Card stock These are the pieces you want to cut from your cardstock. All these pieces are from the same LO with ...

DIY Body Butter

Hello, Friends!  I absolutely love body butter.   I love the creamy and fluffy-ness of it.   So, last January when I was invited to attend a make-and-take on lavender body butter, I happily attended.   The recipe below is from a Young Living Essential Oil group called Only One Drop.  Their web site is  onlyonedrop.com  and they are also on Facebook. Well, January has come and gone and now I'm needing more body butter.  So, here I go.  I'm using their recipe and making my own.   I switching out the Lavender Essential Oil for Peppermint Essential Oil.  Why?  My order for the lavender has not arrived yet.   So, I'm using what I have.  LOL!  Hope I love it as much as the lavender version. Original Recipe:  DIY Lavender Body Butter from Only One Drop I found all the ingredients (except essential oil) at my local grocery store. Prices for each are listed below item. Ingredients: 1/2 cup Shea Butter ...
