Things that make you go, HMMMM????  Unfortunately, I have a black thumb, so these are the only flowers I won't kill, lol! This is card is a CAS one which means, "Clean and Simple".  The biggest rule is lots of pretty white space and limited embellishments.  My newest technique is doodling so for this one, I grabbed my fine black pigment Marvy Pen and made a simple line border. A Fish Tale of a Lay-Out!!!

I'm sew over winter with the cold, ice, and snow. It's time to get away and go up to the cabin and get some fishing done. NOW, I don't mean to brag but over Memorial Day last year, I got a big fish even bigger than Bob ever caught - no fish tale!!! Thus Polka Doodles  Winston Bear Goes Fishing  became the creative mojo for my lay-out for brace yourselves, an actual picture of me and my fish!!! RECIPE and SUPPLIES: lay-out is on Reel and Rod Collage Paper by Karen Foster Design Winston Bear was colored using Prisma Colored Pencils, Whisper Strokes markers, chalk with gel pen accents which was then  fussy-cut around the edges and puff-dotted onto lay-out - isn't he a cutie? Jolee stickers were used for added embellishments which had been given to me by a dear friend, Janet Smith lettering was done using Cricut Plantin Cartridge and cream cardstock photos were matted on scraps of green/blue plaid with dark blue recollectio...

Up (received as a hostess gift) Fiskar's Compact Stamp Press to help with lining up the stamping of images/sentiment (will be replacing this tool with the new MISTI that has just come on the market) The white card mat will tuck in a pocket under the front gate fold which is super great for closing the card - no belly band, etc to close the card for ma...

Wine Glass Lampshades

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here and today I'm creating Wine Glass Lampshades. Here's what you'll need: Wine Glass / Champagne Glass Tea Light (battery one) Two Sheets of 8.5" x 11" card stock. Wine Glass Lampshade Pattern. $2.32 Step 1:   I purchased my wine glass lampshade pattern from SVGHUT on Etsy.  There are many different suppliers and styles.  I picked a wedding theme as I thought I would most likely use it again.  Also, this vendor provided 3 different file formats with the single purchase:  SVG, PNG and SCAL3. Step 2:   Download your files and cut out the two patterns.  I used the SVG file format as I can pull it directly into my Silhouette software.  You'll need two cuts:  one for the underside and one for the top. I cut the larger piece out of plain white card stock.  The top piece is in a designer card stock pattern.   Step 3:   Curve the two pieces into a cone an...

Friends

Hello and Happy Friday!! Cristina here to share with you a layout for the day. I started a 81/2 x 11 scrapbook album for my daughter. I was originally doing a 12x12 of her and her friends but then decided the smaller one would be a bit more fun and easy for her to take to college with her next year. I absolutely loved this picture of her and her good friends going to prom that I really wanted the colors to be soft. I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day! SBC Design Team Member Cristina

Star Moments

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the blog today to share a cool technique with sequins.  I've been using more and more sequins on my projects lately.  Love them :-)  Steps to make the negative space filled with sequins:  (you could really use any shape for this) Cut banner shape.  Cut star shape using center point feature.  Or you could use a punch.  All Occasions Cake Art Cricut cart - banner @3" (pg 65) shadow is on page 74 George & Basic Shapes Cricut cart - star @ 1 1/2" using centerpoint feature Layer your cutout layer on top of the shadow layer.  Trace the shape onto the shadow layer.  Apply Glossy Accents or wet glue that dries clear to the shape plus a little outside the lines.  (looks like I got some glitter in the glossy accents there...opps...LOL!)  Apply sequins in as many colors as you want.  Try to get them as close together as possible.  I just randomly placed mine.  You could use al...
