Resist-able paper and Color Shine - Thursday Review

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today to share a product review.  I'm playing with resistable paper and Color Shine today.  This is my first time trying out both of these products.  TiP:  Keep a roll of paper towels handy.  It's going to get messy....LOL! Supplies: Heidi Swapp Color Shine - teal, primrose Pink Paislee - Artisan Wings- resist-able paper (8x8) Pink Paislee- Artisan Wings - resist butterflies craft mat Color Shine is cool!  Shake it until you hear the little ball--like a spray paint can.  Press the pump sprayer all the way down and use sweeping strokes across your paper/embellishment/ribbon.    It's easy to get carried away.  I think I may have used a bit too much.  Let it sit on your paper for a few seconds.  Then wipe away the extra with your paper towels. Most of it wiped off...oops!  Live and learn, right?  LOL!  But look how pretty.  And it was so easy!...

Birthday Party Decor!

So glad you could join us today. I have some great party decorations to share with you today. This is going to be a photo heavy post...there were several decorations and one really sweet picture of my daddy. My sister and I surprised my dad with an 80th birthday party! He did not even know I was coming from Florida to North Carolina! I was so happy we were able to surprise him. Tip: Be prepared for any type of wall situation. Since I was unsure of the conditions I was going to find with walls and where I needed to put the décor, I went prepared with tape, ribbon, and even some small nails. It ended up I just needed to use the packing tape.       I used the newer Cricut cartridge Create a Friend to do all the décor...this is absolutely the cutest cartridge I have ever seen! I would say definitely a must if you have a Cricut machine!   Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the current challenge here at Scrapbook Blessings Club ! ...

A Hundred Hearts Card

Welcome Friends!  And welcome Spring!  Makes my heart happy.   Here's a card I made using the Sketch posted on the SBC Facebook Page.   I made this card using my Silhouette Cameo.   My tip: If using Silhouette, design and save your card layout to enable re-use of your creation.  Sketch:   SBC Facebook Designer Paper:  Silhouette Ribbon:  Michael's Sentiment:  unknown author A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25" Starting with the SBC FB Sketch, I created an outline and layout of how I wanted my card. SBC Facebook Sketch Snapshot of my Silhouette mat and layout prior to printing and cutting I used banners found in the Silhouette store and color-filled them using the basic colors found in the Silhouette software.  I always save an image of how the final card should look on the left (off of the cutting mat).  That way, if I ever want to make this card again, I'll know how it should look when finished. ...

Welcome our Guest Designer Sandra

Hello everyone, Cristina here to share with you our special guest for this Sunday. We are so happy to have her. She was one of our DT Top picks from our FB SBC Group with her awesome card, she has some amazing creations she will be sharing with us. My name is Sandra Meynell and I'm from Wellington, New Zealand. I am extremely honored to have been chosen as a Guest Designer. I work full time as a Payroll Officer for a large government department. In my spare time I love making stuff. Crafting is my hobby and addiction. I can't remember when I started crafting but my Mum still has a star for the top of the Christmas Tree that I made at Primary School. That was quite a few years ago.  One of my earliest and fondest memories was when I was visiting my Nana on a school holiday and she took me in to buy a Long Stitch Embroidery kit. I made this and then ended up buying a matching kit which I made for her 80th Birthday. When she passed away this came back to me. My...

HIS and HERS

Hi friends!  Sandy here for my next March guest designer post for SweetStamps .  This week is Sweet Stamps'    Anything Goes  challenge  and the March monthly technique challenge is  Coloring Stamps with Inks . I enjoyed making cards for these challenges. The first card is  Anything Goes . I decided to do a masculine card. I never do enough "guy" cards so for me this a little challenging. I think simple is best so I went with a bunch of layering with mats. For the coloring, I decided to use a neutral ink and then using Prismacolor pencils, I add just a quick touch of color. I don't think it is too fancy. For my second card, I wanted to make a more feminine card. It was easier to do to, lol. I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers to  color my stamp with ink .  I absolutely love the "line art" that this image has. I think these birds are fabulous. Definitely one of my favorite stamp!  To mat this great stamp, I used Martha Stewart punches....

Welcome Spring!

Well hello, there! Melissa here today with a fun spring home decor piece for you. Most of the supplies used on this came from the Dollar Tree. So, frugal and fun! The calendar says it's spring, but I'm not sure Mother Nature quite got the memo, yet. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? I can't wait for warmer weather and all that entails. If you'd like to know how I made this, please keep on reading. Tip of the day: Don't be afraid to deconstruct ready made items and turn them into something unique and beautiful. These plaques were meant to be vertical, and I wanted them horizontal. So, I took off their hangers and made my own. Recipe: Wood shapes of your choice Butterflies, and other embellishments Ribbon, burlap, etc. Fake/silk flowers Paper, vellum, paint, etc. Misc: hot glue gun Letters, stickers, etc. to spell out your words. I love how this project turned out. If you have any questions or comments, please leav...
