Oscar the Grouch

Hello, friends!  Marilyn here with Monday's Die Cut.  Before we start, here is my tip:  leave the sentiment off your card until you're ready to use it.  I made this card using Oscar the Grouch.  Oscar is holding a stack of books.  What can this card be used for?  Maybe Back-To-School?  I will probably use it for a book fan whose birthday is coming up.

Here is what I used to create my card:

  • Cricut Cartridge:  Sesame Street Seasons
  • Designer Paper:  Echo Park "Dots & Stripes"
  • Twine:  American Crafts
  • Other:  Fun Flock "Teddy Bear Tan"

  • A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
    Cricut Sesame Street Seasons cartridge
    Card Recipe:
    • Mat 1 (dark green) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
    • Mat 2 (green polka dot) = 5.25" x 4"
    • Mat 3 (brown stripe) = 3.5" x 4".
    • Twine (on either side of brown mat) = from American Crafts

    • Oscar = cut image and shadow at 3.25" from Cricut Sesame Street Seasons cartridge; [Oscar3] found on page 57 of the folder.  Oscar is mounted with foam tape.
    • Eyebrows on Oscar = I really didn't card for the paper cut, so I added some tan flock where the eyebrows should be.
    • Trash on ground = hand torn from white card stock.

    Inside of Card:
    • Mat 1 (dark green) = 5" x 3.75"
    • Mat 2 (white) = 4.75" x 3.5"
Thank you for visiting today.  As always, comments are welcomed and appreciated!

    Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8
