Snack Monster Hits

I am so snack hungry tonight. Hubby went grocery shopping tonight. Two things I don't like to do... laundry and grocery shopping... man I love my hubby. But I digress. Hubby came home with my chicken, ground turkey, wheat pasta, etc. As I digged more, I uncovered chocolate chip cookies and Cheetos...UGGGGG!!!!! Here I am watching the family enjoy their cookies and Mama here was having a pity party, then it hit. Light bulb moment!!!! Earlier this week Heather, The WW Chick posted a great recipe... Haystacks . Oh my goodness, it is chocolate and PB heaven. Mama ended the night happy. :) Here's the proof. I made 18 of them for .5 pts (hade two tonight= 1pt)

Simply Saturday

Here is a brand new Meme from blogland. Jen at My Life: A Happy Wife and Mom set this one up... each week, I will feature a few questions that are directed at cutting down on the craziness of life, and returning to the simple things. Here are this Saturday's questions: So what things do you do as a family to make a weekend more enjoyable? Hubby and I don't have a day off in the week together. So on the weekends while he is at work and I am off, I make sure the house is clean and comforting for him to come home to. It is much more peaceful then, and Mama doesn't feel like she should be cleaning all day when he is home. I don't feel "bound" to the house, and I am up for anything hubby wants to do. Good example: He came home from work last night and wanted to go to Pittsburgh for dinner (a hr long drive for us). I was all for it. My work was done, and I was ready to play. Do you get up early and go or do you sleep in? My Jessica is my alarm clock. I'm up whe

A Family Favorite

I have blogged a couple of time about going to Quaker Steak and Lube for dinner. It never fails that I get a comment about it. I have to chuckle. It is a different name for a restaurant, but I can some it up in two words... AWESOME WINGS!!!!! It is also a big no-no in my diet. I use to be able to go through half a bucket of wings myself. Uggg!!! I don't even want to think about the points in that bucket. But they are sooooo good. Now, I get to watch hubby eat the wings and I'm happy because I know he is in wing heaven, lol. They have healthy dishes too. My favorite is their Boneless wings and broccoli. Can we say delish and healthy? I love that combination better than their sauces, lol. If your a Lube lover like me...give a hollar!!!

HYC/BLBE weigh in

2-24-09: 257 to 256.6 Not much toss this past week. I have a ton of reasons why, but the number is the number and it says I only tossed .4 lbs. My reasons can't change that, but I a happy with this wks weigh in. I have to give God the glory for every toss I have. I couldn't do it without Him. He gives me the strength and endurance to keep on going. He has also taught me this past week how to forgive myself. Yep, I have to forgive myself when I blow it... hint, hint... darn pizza party. This wks scripture: 8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who worship him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sin from us. What is done here on earth is also completed in Heaven. If I have the exp

"Second verse... same as the first

This is part two of my last post . It was getting kinda long; and if your like me, it is hard to follow a long post to completion when I have little ones running around my feet You see, after being overweight my whole life, it finally took me getting real with myself to see myself. I didn’t like who I had become. My body was rebelling. It couldn’t carry my 160lb ”twin” anymore. I tried doing it for me in the past, but the flesh is weak. When I was younger, I wanted to be “pretty and skinny”. I would lose 5-10 lbs and got attention. It was nice and made me feel good; but when the attention stopped, the eating began again, then came the dieting. It became a cycle. It went from 5-10 lbs to 15-20 lbs until it was 50 lbs and there was no way I could lose that by a crash diet! Then the pounds just kept coming on. So what came next??? Excuses. This was not my fault! I have no control over it. I’m big-boned, my metabolism is slow, my whole family is big, God made me big, Satan is against me an

Sunday Blessings

I pray everyone is having a great Sunday. I am very blessed today. My parents are back from their mission trip to Africa. I picked them up last night and they were both exhausted but safe and sound. Mom said she wanted a shower and then soak in the tub all night. This morning she was sharing a small bit of the last two weeks. One thing that she said struck me as poignant . She said, "There was no beauty." The part of Africa they went to is war-torn, with burned out homes, darkness and dirt. There isn't beautiful homes, streets, people, sunsets, trees, mountains. These people live in a hopeless environment. But they were open, searching for hope. When the team came to their village, there was some sense of hope. How do we take for granted? Even when I'm having a rotten day, there is always the hope of a better tomorrow. But God is good! They had several opportunities to preach and hold revivals. Many came to Christ, demons where cast out, people where

HI, I'm the new kid in town!

Well I have finally packed my bags and picked up stakes. I made the switch from Wordpress to Blogger. Why? Because I have no intention of doing anything more with blogging other than sharing myself with you. My deciding factor was that 99.9% of the blogs I read are Blogger ones and I am tired of having to type out the wordpress http:/ everytime. It is so time consuming, that I am lurking instead of commenting. And do you know how many comments actually got lost between Wordpress and Blogger, ugggggg!?!?!? So for my peace of mind, I decided to join the masses. I am still going to keep A Working Mom's Joy at Wordpress. I have a lot of pics and such that I haven't figured out how to move :( But I was able to copy all of February's posts. Friday fill ins February 19, 2009 · 2 Comments #112 by Janet 1-3 are courtesy of Mar this week. And…here we go! 1. Give me money and it will burn a whole in my pocket. 2. Whenever ????. 3. HYC/BLBE weigh in 2009

Healthy You Weigh-in log: year 2- 2009 2-16-09: 260 to 257 lbs… Wow, I made it to the 250s. I think the last time I weighed in the 250s, I was 19-20 years old. As so many others, I think to myself, “How did I let myself get this way?” It is an age old question that I am am sure everyone has thought at one time or another. With that, I pulled out my “fat” pants today and thought, “Oh man, I had a big o’ butt.” (Ever hear the song Baby Got Back, LOL.) Everyday I’m amazed at things I can do nowadays. I get excited to roll around the floor with the kiddos or sit in a restaurant booth or cross my legs. Speaking of restaurant booths, it was wonderful to not have to wait for a table on Valentine’s Day. I was able to sit in a booth and cross my legs!!!! Can you believe that?!?! Oh well, This past week has been one of wonderment for me. I even went out and bought a new pair of “skinny” jeans. I’m hoping to be able to wear come March. And I was able to give 4…yes, 4 garbage bags of
