A YEAR OF TECHNIQUES' JUNE BLOG HOP: BASIC CARD FOLDS WITH DOUBLE SIDE PAPER

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to A Year of Card Techniques Blog Hop where each month we feature a different card technique.  We’ve assembled a team of card makers who range from new to advanced, so you’ll see a great variety of cards and ideas.
June‘s hop is devoted to basic card folds; featuring drapery/curtain fold, peek-a-boo fold or double-z gate-fold.  And we’re adding a twist of using double-sided paper.   We hope this gives you lots of ideas and will inspire you to try these card folds yourself...and pull out that double-sided paper as well!
If you would like to check out our past technique hops, you can do that here:
We have an amazing sponsor this month, Candy Spiegel. Please take a moment to check out all the crafty goodness on her blog, Candy Scraps. And the awesome prize this month is:

Hi everyone, Sandy here and if you have seen just a little bit of my site here, you will know that I loooove 2 things!!!!!
1) Fancy Card Folds and 2) Double Side Pattern Paper!!!!!! Love, Love, Love!!!
So here are my projects for the hop plus my most recent... like done last night!!! Why, because I love using Double sided pattern paper... say that 10 times real fast, lol!!!!
1) First up is this cute card... pop out window. ( ps, I usually make up my own card fold names, lol). This was one of my first fancy fold cards and I just had to share. I don't think I ever posted it!

2) This one is a Cascade Card fold and it is soooo easy because I used double side paper instead of trying to matt the darn thing, lol! (ps, I loved this paper so much, I bought 2 stacks and still have more, like 5 years later, lol)

 3) This is the easiest card ever!!!! The 2 min Twisted Gift Card. The hardest thing about this card is picking out what cute paper you want to use! These are all made with double side paper and of course it saves on time if you don't cut out pieces of paper to matt down.

okay, I need to throw these two in, these are oldies but soooo easy to do because of the paper... once again, I sound like a broken record but trust me, if you don't have double side 12x12 pattern paper... RUN to the store now... after the hop of course, lol! Here is my Neverending Card:

Last but not least...
And so I just came back from vacation and wanted to play around... I missed my craft desk! So for the past 2 days I decided to try to make my own Travelers Notebook. Of course I had to use some great papers!

These are the inserts, I made 4. I love how they all match. That's why I said to get a 12x12 paper pad. It takes all the work out of trying to find papers that match.

Ok, whewwwww, I hope I inspired you a little.  Kinda got carried away this month but I did say that I LOOOOOOOVE my card folds and double side paper, lol. You were warned!!!
Now  you’re off to visit with Jodie Park. Hope you had fun and thanks for stopping by.  See you next month with another technique!

Here’s the full line-up in case you get lost:

  1. Wowzers! Love all of your creations. What I loved most is you reminded me techniques that I've done before, but not done in a really long time. Especially that neverending card. I made three of those in past, and it's been a few years. i'm inspired to hit that again. That first window card . . . amazing! I think it's my fave. Love the colors and your image. I need to give that a try again. The travelers notebook is a great idea. I'll have to give that a shot sometime. Great hopping with you.

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8
