SBC- Guest DT

The Scrapbook Blessing club would like to welcome Vicky Fortier as our Guest Design Team member!
I'm an accountant working full time and a mother of 4 great kids.  I have an amazing husband who understand that in order to keep my sanity through all this I need to craft ;) I live in the province of Quebec, Canada, so some of my crafting is done with French sayings.

I have been crafting over 21 years and tried my hands at all kinds of techniques over the years.  I always love to try new things!!!  I started blogging in March of 2012 in order to join challenges.  I became totally hooked!!!!  I can't believe this world existed and I only found out about it then.  I see blogging as a wonderful opportunity to improve my card making abilities.  On the web I'm known as Crafting Vicky.

I have realized that through the web I get to meet amazing people from all over the world and learn from them.  It's incredible that now we are all linked even if we are in totally different time zones!  Crafters are incredibly generous and willing to help others.  I really consider myself lucky to be part of such great teams of crafters.
My tips would be the following:
1-      When inspiration is lacking check out the challenges going on in Paper Playful.  Find a fun sketch or a new technique to try out(like this week’s new challenge over at SBC – I had never made a twisted easel card and now that card is one of my favorites shown here) .  That always help me to find some inspiration.
2-      Don’t be discouraged if your project doesn’t look like it did in your head… it’s all the practice that will make it better.
3-      My favorite tool are my dies!!!!  Those are my go to item to make any card or project better and I have lots and lots… they are now kind of a collection of mine lol  I use waxed paper between my most intricate ones and the card stock.  It really helps to remove the die cut from the metal.
Here is the card that I made for the current SBC Twisted Easel Challenge (my 1st one!!!  And love how it turned out it had to be special for my SIL’s 40th b-day) And a card that I had done last year in May when I learned that my MIL would pass away shortly from cancer.

Vicky
Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by.
