CSDivas Fall Blog Hop ( 25-26th ) Project #2

Welcome to ScrapBook Blessings and the first CSDivas Fall Blog Hop!!! If you are coming from ANN's , you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with with the CSDivas, then click HERE.We started yesterday, and I want to thank everyone who hopped on by :)  now for day 2 of our Fall Hop!!!

The Design Team members have created fabulous Fall creations to inspire you and to motivate you to create some projects, just perfect for the season. There will be prizes along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a grand prize up for grabs at CSDivas.  Here is a sneak peek...
So let's get started... I get the honor of having the "Back to School" theme so I decided to show a great little project you can whip up for your kiddo's favorite teacher.  (lot's of photos but so easy to make)  (This is project number two.  If you missed yesterday's, just scroll down to the previous post.)
  • Take a 12 x12 piece of cardstock ( you want something heavier for this project).  Score at 3"and 9", turn and score at 4 1/2"and 7 1/2".
 should look like this
  •  Mark the inside corner of each outside square.
  • Fold in and match up creases.  Do this for each corner square.
  • Apply adhesive, to each oustside wing.
  • Fold in towards the middle side and over lap wings.  Do this for both sides of the box.
  • Next place a little glue to the inside folds ( like on the left side) to tack down. No scissors needed with this project!!!  Just fold and glue.

  • Now it is time for the handles.  Cut (2)12"x1" strip of paper and another (2)12"x 3/4". You can just use one set of paper if you want to do a "basket"  handle.
  • I decided to use both strips to make up two handles.  I used glue dots to adhere handles inside box.
For anyone who completes a Back 2 School project ( Layout, card, altered art, tag, etc.) and links up will go into a drawing for my own prize. (Mr Linky is the post from yesterday)  Don't forget to upload at CSDivas too!!!

For the Grand Prize from CSDivas: 4 easy steps
  1. Sign up as a member of Creative Scrapbooking Divas. If you are not yet a member, is very easy to join, simply go to this link and register, we will approve your application as fast as we can.
  2. Visit each of the designer's blogs, leave a comment.  But, there's another catch....
  3. Each blog will have an Autumn leaf hiding somewhere with a word.  Rake up all the leaves to form the correct phrase then PM this phrase to Lori or Luisa on CSDivas site.  (Hint: 7 words and my word is the last post!!!!)
  4. Complete at lease  " 3 " of the 6 DT projects.  If you complete more than one then you get another chance to win.  Upload in the Blog Hop Event, HERE   (ex: complete my Back 2 School challenge and post it here and at the CSDivas site.)
You have until Tuesday 9/28 to post your comments and projectsHope this inspires you and I can't wait to meet you at CSDivas!!!!  To " fall "on over to our next blog, Guest DT Jamie

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
