Harvest pumpkins

I'm in my Fall Harvest mode now!!! Can't wait for Thanksgiving.

One of the decorations that I have are cloth pumpkins. I have been making them for about 13 yrs now and though I would show you a couple.

My Sam made the orange one on the end at church. His teacher is my sister, and I passed on my pumpkin knowledge, lol.
They are very easy to make. All you need is a scrap of fabric ( I look in the scrap bin at the fabric store), a roll of toilet paper, batting, paper bag, jute and fake leaves. Hot glue gun and pins.
Place the TP in the center of the fabric. Wrap the TP in batting to get the thickness you want. Gather the fabric and pleat up over the TP and tuck into top hole of TP. Do that all the way around. You can pin the fabric to the batting/TP at the top if you want.

Cut a strip from the bottom of the paper bag, about 4 inches wide and roll to make the stem. Start at the top of the "stem" using hot glue to hold the jute on the bag. Next wrap the jute around the paper bag until you reach the bottom. Tuck the stem inside the TP hole to help keep the fabric tight to the TP. Add the leaves by tucking the stems inside the TP hole. Easy as... pumpkin!!!

Enjoy!

  1. Those are very cool. Very creative too. To answer your question...I use a Nikon D90 to snap most of my pictures. Some are taken with my point and shoot Canon sd1000.

Building Block Graduation Card

Hello, everyone! Melissa here on to share a "building block" style card with you. I made this one graduation themed, since there are a ton of graduations going on right now. Hope you enjoy this card, and are inspired to try it out yourself. Here is the tutorial I followed from Split Coast Stampers. To make it easier, I will give you all the measurements, here. It looks harder than it is, I promise. Start with a piece of cardstock in your desired color that is 5.5 x 10.5. Put the 10.5 inch side along the top of your score board or paper trimmer, and score at 3.5 inches and 7 inches. Fold the first score line in a mountain fold, and the second in a valley fold. You should end up with a "z" fold card. The next part can get a bit tricky, so make sure you watch the video to fully understand what I am about to explain. On the back side of the "valley" fold, take a ruler and pencil and mark these measurements: 3/8 1 3/8 1 5/8 2 5/8 2 7/8 3 7/8 ...
